It&#8217;s simple, but not simplistic.<\/p>\n<p>I took my training 13 years ago from the creator of the One Page Business Plan\u2122, Jim Horan (who has since created the 90 Day Sales Plan\u2122 and more wonderful tools). \u00a0Jim has the gift of taking the complex and making it simple and powerful. \u00a0Jim spent some time talking to the the Women In Consulting organization last week. \u00a0He highlighted 5 things to do when trying to &#8220;sell&#8221; your services. \u00a0I loved these, and wanted to share them here:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Pick up the damn phone. \u00a0Call people you know and like every day (and no, that does not mean your Aunt Vi or son Joey. \u00a0We&#8217;re talking about the professional arena here). \u00a0For whatever reason, making phone calls is one of the hardest things for sales people to do. \u00a0So start with people you know and like&#8230;and those who know and like you.<\/li>\n<li>Sell what you LOVE, forget the rest. \u00a0This was very helpful to me, since I love to learn and, ergo, have a LOT of knowledge, tools, programs and ways to help others achieve what they want. \u00a0I&#8217;m also very enthusiastic..at first..then I feel compelled to continue trying to sell what really doesn&#8217;t fit ME. \u00a0I&#8217;ve been trying to be all things to all people. \u00a0I have released some things on my plate with this tip alone. \u00a0Whew!<\/li>\n<li>Focus on people&#8217;s needs&#8230;not what you&#8217;re wanting to sell to them, or what you think they should want. \u00a0This kind of goes back to the adage, &#8220;people don&#8217;t care what you know until they know how much you care.&#8221; \u00a0What do THEY need?
